Welcome to Hockey Graphs!
Hockey Graphs was created to promote, advance, and expand the field of hockey analytics. Over the past six-plus years, the website has hosted hundreds of articles and provided a platform for many members of the hockey analytics community. And now, Hockey Graphs contributors are coming together to produce a newsletter.
So…how does this work?
When you sign up, each edition of our newsletter goes directly to your inbox! During these NHL playoffs we’ll be experimenting with our content and our frequency, and while there will be some paid content in the future, you’ll have plenty of notice before that happens.
What kind of content can you expect?
While the Hockey Graphs website aims to share timeless, research-oriented content, the Hockey Graphs newsletter is intended for more short-form pieces focused on current happenings. You’ll find sections like:
Watch the Game. During the playoffs, we’ll provide postmortems of series that have ended or preview the series that are about to begin. During the regular season, we might focus on a particular team or player.
The Eye Test. Our experts will break down specific teams, players, or strategies, utilizing video and plenty of metaphors.
From the Spreadsheets. We’ll create explainers and tutorials that are designed to further your knowledge of hockey analytics and the tools we use to do our work.
Depending on the time of year, we’ll also run features on women’s hockey, NHL prospects, and more.
Where can you find more of our work?
The Hockey Graphs website will continue to host plenty of free content. You can access the full list of website contributors here.
You can also find us on Twitter, where we promote research from the site and share work done by our contributors and others in the hockey community.
Thanks for following along, we hope our newsletter is a welcome addition to your inboxes!
